Therapy

Mutual respect.

You should feel my respect for you the first time we speak. It is the foundation of our work together.

Non-judgment.

Judgment simply halts any progress in therapy. You should feel my curiosity and care for you, not judgment.

Compassion.

This quality is what brings me to work everyday. It is my desire to help people through their suffering so that they can find peace within themselves and with others.

Safety.

You should feel comfortable and safe in the office and with me. You should never feel pushed to talk about or do anything that makes you feel unsafe in therapy.

Presence.

In other words, you feel my undivided care and attention in sessions.

How can I help?

The quest to live a connected, healthy, nourishing, purposeful, and emotionally authentic life is for me, and my clients, the heart of mental wellness.

My therapy practice is dedicated to working with adults who experience internal stress due to a life transition, a conflicted significant relationship, or work-life balance issues.

Therapy with me is a dynamic process. I engage in direct communication, active support and a healthy dose of humor to generate sustainable change. I am transparent in sharing my clinical thoughts and impressions with you as we work together. I am bilingual in Spanish, having lived and worked in both Mexico and Costa Rica. I am licensed to provide therapy in Texas, Florida, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

How do I do things?

My approach is warm, proactive, respectful, and engaged. I believe direct and authentic communication is the hallmark of effective therapy. In my free 15 minute consultation, we will meet to determine if therapy with me is a good fit. If we decide to work together, the first few sessions are dedicated to me learning all about you—I do this by asking lots of questions! We will create your goals together, shaped by my recommendations about strategies and frequency of sessions.

I see some clients for many years and others for a handful of sessions. It all depends on you and what you need.
